Our new building is changing everyday! The new addition is complete and the new roof is on. They have now started framing in the new addition to the building and the inside is looking great! Site work started back up this week as we are finally drying out a bit and they will be putting in the sanitary sewer in the next few days. They continue to be making incredible progress everyday with framing, electrical, plumbing and HVAC. It will not be long till they have the entire building closed in and we will be able to have a dry work space and things will really be progressing. Please continue to pray for all of our subcontractors and their safety as well as a few dry days that we can begin all of the site work that need to begin soon.

Everyday more and more is completed at the new building site! All of the steel for the new addition of the building is up and they will begin putting the roof on it in the next couple of days. All of the flat in the building is almost complete and we now have stairs into the lower part of the building.

Building Update 1 from Plum Creek on Vimeo.
We are seeing more and more activity everyday at the building site. Framing, rough electrical, plumbing and HVAC work continues to be moving full steam ahead. Tomorrow (5/3) the new addition to our building (the southwest corner) will begin to be put up. It will take about a week to erect all of the steel for the new part of our building. It will not be long till they have the entire building closed in and we will be able to have a dry work space and things will really be progressing. Please continue to pray for all of our subcontractors and their safety as well as a few dry days that we can begin all of the site work that need to begin soon.

We continue to see a lot of progress every week at the building site. Late last week the new floor in the South West addition was poured. This week weather permitting we will make the connection for the main water line going into the building as well as continue with interior framing, electrical, plumbing and HVAC. We have also started work on the site improvements but could be postponed due to wet ground. Please continue to pray for favorable weather, safety for all of the subcontractors and wisdom for our General Contractor – Great West Construction.
4/5/2013
Every day that passes more and more items are completed for our new facility. As of today (4/5/13) most of the kids wing framing has been completed as well as the downstairs of the office area. The foundation, backfill and compaction of the new southwest corner of the building is also done. In the next few days they will be finishing the rough-in foe the remaining plumbing, pouring the remaining flatwork in the interior of the building and will start the instillation of the sanitary sewer. Please continue to pray for the safety of all the subcontractors and that our weather will continue to hold so that we can get started on all of the site work
3/28/2013
Framing has begun in our new facility! The framers have started putting in the framing for interior walls and the other trades are following right along behind putting in rough electrical and plumbing. You will also notice if you drive by the property that they are starting the rough grading for the parking lot and connecting sewer to the exterior of the building. The underground plumbing and electrical has passed inspection and we hope to pour all of the interior slabs inside the building by the end of this week, as long as the weather cooperates. Please continue to pray for all of the subcontractors on the site for there safety and quick hands to do the work before them.
3/14/2013
We are now in full blown construction, which is great news for us all! In the past couple of weeks we have seen underground utilities (electrical and plumbing) being installed and completed as well as adding new foundations inside and outside the building. We are also roughing in mechanical (HVAC) trunk lines and electrical conduit that are attached to the super structure of the building. There is a flourish of activity in and around the building with vital pieces of the project being completed or started everyday. Please continue to pray for the safety of all of the subcontractors and for our general contractor (Great West Construction) as they give direct oversight to the project.

PRAISE!!!
The easement from landowner to the north has been granted!
2/25/2013
If you were not able to be at church this past weekend you missed some big news! On Friday (2/22/13) we received our building permit which allows us to start the interior finish for our new building.
We will start this week with adding new structure for the new areas of our building. Thanks so much for your continued support. Please continue to pray for all of the sub-contractors that are on the site (for their safety) and that we will be able to keep the schedules we have in place.

Ready, Set, GO!!!
In just a few short days we hope to begin construction on our new home! Leading up to starting construction we are doing the final demolition of the building (the southwest corner where we will be adding the new entry feature). In addition to the walls being demo’ed the ceiling has also been taken off to be ready for the new roof structure that will be added. If you have not been praying lately for our new home, we would love for you to be praying now for all of the crews working at the site and for their safety. We are so excited to see all that God has before in the days ahead. To Him be the glory!

Both the 12″ water main and the 8″ site water line are complete. (see pictures)
A water pressure test on the 12″ water main was completed and passed on 2/7/13.
A water pressure test on the 8″ site water line will be performed on 2/8/13.
A clear water test will be performed on 2/11/13 to determine water clarity. Once we have all of these test completed and passed Castle Rock Fire Department will perform the final test on the fire hydrants on the site. This inspection will be the final determination on getting our building permit and being able to start interior construction.
As we stand today, it appears we should be able to start construction on 2/14/13.

Waterline progress!
12/21/2012
We have progress – praise God! Our surety bond issues related with the waterline have been resolved and we received our permit to begin construction. The weather has remained mild and the workers began digging the waterline earlier this week. Another big announcement to note is that the house out front of the new building has been DONATED to the church! What a huge blessing.
We are still working on getting the easement agreement with the landowner to the north finalized.
10/17/2012
Doug challenged us to continue to pray for the easement for our water detention needs. Today, I received a call from Capital Automotive in Virginia. It now sounds as if they might be willing to discuss the easement further and asked if they could contact our Civil Engineer. I have put everyone in contact with each other and we will see if an agreement can be made in regards to the easement. All that to say keep praying! Sometimes even when you think there is no hope, God shows up and things begin to happen.
We have also had movement on several other items today that could help us get started with construction sooner than we thought. We have been given our permit for the water line extension, and now have to finalize the permit application and supply sureties or bonding for the work. With the completion of these items, we will be able to close on our construction loan and proceed full steam ahead. We were also given permission today to export the fill dirt from our property to an adjacent property that will save the church significant funds. All of this to say we have seen a tremendous amount of positive momentum today and are trusting that the Lord will continue to grant us favor in moving ahead. Pastor Stephen

Virginia Meeting Update:
A special thanks to all of you that prayed this morning for my meeting with the bank in Virginia. I was able to meet with the company’s General Counsel and the Vice President of Portfolio Management. The meeting went well but there is still much to pray about. They are now evaluating our request. This is a significant decision that will open the door for the beginning of the construction process. Please continue to pray for a favorable response soon. Pastor Doug

We are sure many of you have noticed, there has not been much activity at our new building site. We have run into a couple of issues that we are working on getting resolved so that we can proceed full steam ahead.
We do have approved interior construction drawings (architectural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical) but at this point are unable to proceed without our water line being fully installed and functioning. We are currently in the second review with the town on our civil construction drawings and will not be able to begin the installation of the water line until it has been fully approved. This does give us some additional time to finalize the bidding process and work through other building details before we get started.
Please continue to pray that we will finish all of these details soon and that we will be able to proceed.

If you did not already know the building has been completely gutted and is ready for buildout.
Before we can start construction, we are waiting on a couple of items:
1.As of last Friday (7/13/12) we have received the first review from the Town of Castle Rock on our construction drawings. We will resubmit the drawings with the requested changes by this Friday (7/20/12). If there are no additional comments or corrections from the town we will have our approved construction set and then be able to move forward with construction.
2. Our General Contractor (Great West Construction) is currently getting final pricing from all the sub-contractors. They hope to have this completed this week as well and we will then be able to determine the actual cost for building our new church home.
Please continue to pray that things will go smoothly with our design team and the Town, and that we will get the best pricing possible from all the sub-contractors. It is our desire to get started as soon as possible but these are hurdles that need to be completed first.

What an incredible event this past Sunday for the groundbreaking! There was truly an excitement in the air and God’s presence was there! It has been a while since our last update, but we have been in the Construction Drawing phase without much to report. We had a huge meeting this week with the entire design team (architects/ engineers) and will will have our complete Construction Drawing set ready to submit to the town tomorrow (6/14/12) for their review. The review process will take four weeks and then we will be heading into full constructing mode. Also during the CD plan review our General Contractor (Great West Construction) will be getting final hard cost for the project.Another great report is that we will start interior demolition tomorrow (6/14/12)! The interior demolition will take about two weeks. It will be great to see the building cleared out and see how much room we really have.Stay tuned for more exciting news in the weeks ahead! Here are some pictures from the Groundbreaking Ceremony.

Plum Creek owns a building!! Praise to God!
We closed on the new building today. It needs A LOT of work but it’s ours! God has done great things!! YET GREATER DAYS STILL AHEAD!!

If you have not already heard, we were approved last light by the Castle Rock Town Council for our Use By Special Review application. The vote was unanimous 7 – 0. Although the presentation to the council only took a few minutes, it did take us six months to get to this point and it is another big step towards having a permanent home for Plum Creek Community Church. We met with commercial appraisers today to get the appraisal done for the building (both as it is now, as well as how it will be built out) and should have that back within two weeks. Please pray for a favorable appraisal on the property! We continue to be working on the Construction Drawings and hope to have the completed set by May 14th. Once they are completed we will submit them to the town’s Building Department for their approval. We also continue to get ever closer to the closing date (May 31). Please continue to pray that we are able to raise all the funds($1,000,000) to accomplish this closing.Click herefor the most recent floor plan of the new building.

This is a big week for us in the building project! We (the building committee) have selected our General Contractor (Great West Construction) and are moving forward with all of the construction drawings for our new home. On Thursday evening (4/12/12) at 6:00 PM we go before the Town’s Planning Commission to make our presentation. Upon their recommendation we will then go before the Town Council (4/24/12 at 6:00 PM) for final approval to use the building as a church. We would very much appreciate your prayers for both of these meetings. If you would like to attend either of these proceedings, they are open to the public and you would be welcome to attend. Our architect (Lee Architect’s) continues to finalize their part of the construction drawings. Once all construction drawings are complete, we will submit those to the Town’s Building Department for their approval. As long as things continue to go smoothly we will close on the property towards the end of May and then start construction as soon as possible following the closing. Please let us know if you have any questions and we will do our best to answer those questions as quickly as we can.

Things continue to go well with the project. We are in the second of three reviews for the USBR (Use By Special Review). Our Architect will be done by the end of this week with the schematic drawings. We are now in the process of picking the additional engineers (mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural) that will be completing the blue print drawings for the project. We are still set to go before the Planning Commission on April 12th and before the Town Council on April 17th. These will be the final meetings with the Town and will give us final approval to use the building as a church.

We have made it through the first review for the USBR (Use By Special Review) application. We are now in the process of making the necessary corrections with all of our engineers and returning it to the town ASAP. Once returned to the town we will start our second review (two weeks), make corrections from that review and then go back for our third and final review (1 week). We are in the CD (Construction Drawings) phase of the project with the architect. Once the CD’s are complete we will hand them off to our General Contractor finalist to put together hard cost estimates for the construction. We have two meetings scheduled with the town. One, with the Planning Commission (March 22nd), and the second with Town Council (April 17th).

We are currently in the “Use By Special Review” process. We will have a meeting next week to go over the first review and there will be two additional reviews ( review #2 – 2 weeks and review #3 – 1 week) that will follow. We had our required neighborhood meeting last night (2/15/12) at the studio, and that went very well.During the second review of the “Use By Special Review” we will have our meeting with the town’s Planning Commission. Upon completion of the “Use By Special Review” and approval from the Planning Commission we will have a reading and a vote from the Town Council. Right now we have a tentative date of April 10th for the Town Council meeting.Things continue to go very well with the building process, out architect (Lee Architect’s) will be starting the CD’s (Construction Documents) by the end of the week (2/17). This process will take a few weeks but as soon as we complete these we will get a hard number bid from the three General Contractors that we select to be in the top three. This selection of the top three General Contractors is still not complete but we hope to have this done by next week (2/24).The entire process continues to go extremely well and we know that God’s hand has been with us every step and that He will continue to go ahead of us.
1/26/2012
We continue to make good progress with the building. We have all of our engineers on board (Landscape, photometric, traffic and civil) and all of the additional survey work that had to be done (topo and water extension) has been completed. We also have the first scheme for the interior and the exterior completed by the architect (Lee Architects). We have currently met with five general contractors and will be making a selection within the next month.
We have been informed by the town that we will be required to re-plat the property but it will not be a typical plat. There will be no fee associated with it and will be completed during the use by special review process. We still do not have answers in regards to road improvements or the future cost related to the overpass but will get that information during the review process as well. The town will use our TIS (Traffic Impact Study) to determine those costs.
The plan right now is to have everything completed for the use by special review application by early next week. We will have a submittal meeting with them and that will start the seven week review process by the town. Not included in that will be the work that we will need to do to make corrections to the red lines they will have for us on their reviews.
We continue to move forward in all phases of the project (due diligence with the town and on the building, architectural, engineering, site planning, pre-construction and financing)
